U.S. Competitive Edge in Science
An article by William J. Broad in the October 13, 2005 issue of the New York Times reports on a panel of experts convened by the National Academies. The panel called for an urgent and wide-ranging effort to strengthen scientific competitiveness.
Teaching and using the scientific method - the method that has most changed the world in all fields of endeavor - is the most important thing to do to keep America competitive. Yet the National Academies of Science have been blundering by claiming that the scientic method doesn’t exist, even though scientists follow it in their work. The National Academies of Science have not accepted my $100,000 challenge to study the blunder about the scientific method.
